Thunder vs. Spurs: 3 Best Bets

The San Antonio Spurs return home after nine games on the road to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After nine games on the road, winning only one, the San Antonio Spurs are relieved to be back home in the Frost Bank Center, but kick off a brief homestand against the Oklahoma City Thunder, which is one of the better teams in the league.

Victor Wembanyama is firmly beating Chet Holmgren in the NBA's Rookie of the Year Race, although the Thunder have beaten the Spurs in each of the previous two matchups this season.

Both teams are incredibly healthy entering the contest. Marcus Morris Sr. and Charles Bassey are both out for San Antonio, although that comes as no surprise. The Thunder have a clean injury report.

The Lines

Point spread: Thunder -11.5 (-105)/Spurs +11.5 (-118)

Money line: Thunder (-699)/Spurs (+450)

Over/under: 237.5

Our Picks

Safe pick: Devin Vassell OVER 21.5 points (-118)

Not only has Devin Vassell averaged 22.5 points since the All-Star Break, but he's been shooting a lights-out 44 percent from beyond the arc. While his scoring hasn't been great against the Thunder this season (21 and 12) expect him to benefit from Wembanyama's increased gravity.

Team pick: Thunder -11.5 (-105)

The Spurs have been blown out in both games against the Thunder and haven't kept it particularly close in any of their recent losses. On top of that, the Thunder is rolling, winning six in a row. All six of those games were won by double-digits, so expect the trend to continue tonight.

Report: Spurs Narrowing Down Site for New Arena

Rookie parlay: Victor Wembanyama to record a double-double and Chet Holmgren to record a double-double (+210)

Since the break, both rookies have been cruising. Wembanyama averages 21.3 points and 11.5 rebounds (plus 4.8 blocks!) and Holmgren is posting 22 points and 10.3 boards. Both will be trying to prove a point in the matchup, so expect each of them to play physical basketball on both ends.
