The San Antonio Spurs are saying goodbye to one of their one of their players at the beginning of free agency.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Phoenix Suns are signing Spurs forward Keita Bates-Diop.

"Free agent F Keita Bates-Diop has agreed to a two-year, $5M deal with the Phoenix Suns, co-head of @CAA_Basketball Austin Brown tells ESPN," Wojnarowski tweeted. "Deal includes a player option. Bates-Diop will have a chance to earn a starting forward spot."

Bates-Diop, 27, averaged 9.7 points, 3.7 rebounds on 50 percent shooting, which all mark either the highest or the second-highest numbers of his career.

Radio talk show host John Gambadoro mentioned earlier this week that Bates-Diop could be a free agent option for the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns are eyeing players who could be on veteran minimum deals, especially after trading for Bradley Beal earlier this month. Over $162 million is being spent on Beal, Deandre Ayton, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, meaning Bates-Diop is going to play and could be a bargain for the Suns.

Bates-Diop joins Josh Okogie, Damion Lee and Drew Eubanks as the early free agent haul for the Suns.

Now, the Spurs will look to replace him in the coming days as free agency begins.
