The San Antonio Spurs lost to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, despite a high-effort game on both sides of the ball. The Spurs were down by double-digits on three separate occasions but lost by six points.

Tre Jones led the way for the Spurs with 22 points, and Victor Wembanyama added 12 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and six blocks.

Wembanyama's slow offensive night was mirrored by Luka Doncic, who finished with 18 points on 6-for-27 shooting from the floor. Jeremy Sochan played excellent defense on Doncic all night, which was complimented by his 13 points on the other end.

Wembanyama and Doncic ended up getting tangled up under the basket with 47 seconds left, and Wembanyama was hobbling after the play. He remained in the game after a timeout.

Dallas ended up being led by Kyrie Irving's 28 points, which was enough to beat the Spurs.

With Zach Collins out and in concussion protocol, Dominick Barlow got extended minutes as the second-string center. Barlow was already set to play with the Austin Spurs and was in Edinburg, Texas, but made the four-hour trek to San Antonio on limited notice.

Despite the inevitable fatigue that comes with a half-day road trip, Barlow added four points, one rebound, and five assists.

Shooters Tre Jones and Cedi Osman had themselves solid nights. Jones makes the cut as a shooter thanks to his four-of-five effort from beyond the arc en route to his team-leading 22 points and nine assists, and Osman added only five points, but his block on Doncic late in the game was easily the high point of his--and fans'--evenings.

Power Rankings: Spurs Moving Up After Win vs. Nets?

The Spurs are 0-4 against Dallas on the season, finishing out their season series. The Spurs have three games left in their homestand, taking on the Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns twice.
