Spurs End Rodeo Road Trip with Loss vs. Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves handed the San Antonio Spurs their fifth straight loss.

The San Antonio Spurs are finally headed home, but it isn't quite a happy flight after a 114-105 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night at the Target Center.

While the Spurs managed to cut the final score to a single-digit defeat, the Timberwolves had this one wrapped up after the third quarter when they led by 24 points.

Victor Wembanyama continued to shine for the Spurs, dropping 17 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks. Keldon Johnson, fresh off being benched against the Utah Jazz, found his stride again. He bounced back with 20 points off the bench, including five 3-pointers.

The Wolves were led by Anthony Edwards, who scored a game-high 34 points. Naz Reid pitched in with 22 of his own off the bench.

Power Rankings: Spurs Dropping as Losing Streak Continues?

The loss marks 12 of the last 13 for the Spurs as they are on pace for their worst season in franchise history.

Luckily for the Spurs, they are set to return home after nearly a month away from San Antonio against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT on Thursday.
