Spurs Fiesta 5: Bucks' Mike Budenholzer Back to Coaching San Antonio?

Inside The Spurs identifies five of the biggest NBA storylines in addition to relevant San Antonio Spurs news and analysis.
Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports
In this story:

1. BUD BACK TO SPURS?

"The former Spurs assistant spent 17 years under Popovich in San Antonio and was apart of the first four championships in franchise history. Then, as a head coach, he won a ring with the Bucks in 2021. However, Milwaukee's decline since hoisting the Larry O'Brien Trophy led to his firing earlier this month."

2. SPURS FREE AGENCY ROLE

"The San Antonio Spurs stand out as a team that may be willing to walk that path this summer," Bleacher Report writes. "Teams with just the NTMLE aren't likely to bother. The market for restricted players will be tight, notably Rui Hachimura of the Los Angeles Lakers, Cam Johnson of the Nets, Matisse Thybulle of the Blazers and Grant Williams of the Boston Celtics."

3. KNICKS VS. HEAT GAME 4

"The Miami Heat took a 2-1 series lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals over the New York Knicks with a 105-86 victory in Game 3. Moving to Game 4, the Knicks will look to tie the series at two games apiece, while the Heat will hope to take a more commanding 3-1 series lead."

Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CST on TNT.

4. WARRIORS VS. LAKERS GAME 4

"Game 1 between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors in this Western Conference Semifinal was a masterclass in all things basketball. Game 2 was a decisive Warriors win and Game 3 was a trouncing by the Lakers. What will Game 4 have in store?"

Tipoff is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. CST on TNT.

5. NBA DRAFT LOTTERY COUNTDOWN

The Spurs are eight days away from the NBA Draft Lottery, where it will be revealed if San Antonio will have the opportunity to take Victor Wembanyama with the No. 1 overall pick.
