Spurs Have 'Spending Power' to Sign Warriors' Draymond Green

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green enters free agency this summer. Could the San Antonio Spurs sign him?

The San Antonio Spurs are in search for a player that will jolt their franchise into a new direction this summer.

While that player is more likely to come through the draft, there are free agents who could also fit the bill. The Spurs have more cap space than most this summer and could lure a top free agent with a deal that costs more than contending teams that are low on money.

Bleacher Report suggests that Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green could be one of those players.

"Can Green find another team willing to spend close to the amount he would need to decline to explore free agency? Most teams with spending power have younger rosters, like the San Antonio Spurs, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Orlando Magic and Utah Jazz," Bleacher Report writes.

Green, 33, fits the bill as a culture-changer who could look to chase money after sacrificing contracts for Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant, among others, for the entirety of his tenure with the Warriors.

While the Warriors provide a championship-level roster that the Spurs currently lack, Green could be wooed by Gregg Popovich, the money and the idea of building something special again in San Antonio.
