1. VICTOR WEMBANYAMA "I think pretty quickly I learned to know my teammates and they learned to know me," Wembanyama said. "They know I don't care about [the media attention]. I'm here to make sacrifices for them, and I think they're going to make sacrifices for me ... at the end of the day, we're at practice and I'm like, 'What can we do today to make this team better?'"

2. JEREMY SOCHAN "There's been a different kind of energy," Sochan said. "Everyone wants to come back. Everyone wants to learn. That's an exciting thing to have as a young team. ... We've been in the gym. Sometimes the whole team is here — that's a rare thing in the NBA."

3. KELDON JOHNSON "I'm definitely excited," Johnson said. "We're ready to work. We've been working all summer. ... I've grown a lot. I've put a lot of hard work and time into my body and my craft, so I'm ready. I'm excited to prove all the doubters wrong."

4. DEVIN VASSELL "My knee is great," Vassell said, addressing the most pressing question posed by reporters. "It was tough last year, battling back and forth, in-and-out of games. Having to sit out and have surgery. But I took a lot away from that.

"I feel great. I'm ready to get this season going. Just know that my knee feels great."

5. ZACH COLLINS "I think being together so long now," Collins said. "Everybody is growing up a little bit. [We all] took this summer really seriously. We all got a lot better. ... and I think we made all the right steps to do that."
