1. BUDDY TO SPURS? "Adding Hield to the mix would give the Spurs at least one elite shooter who creates gravity and potentially two when he shares the floor with Doug McDermott," Bleacher Report wrote of Hield. "The Spurs would understandably balk at giving up much for Hield, and Hield himself may not want to take part in a rebuild. But there's logic in a marriage here."

2. VASSELL EXTENSION COMING? "Devin Vassell missed a couple of months with a knee injury, but the San Antonio Spurs were focused on the Victor Wembanyama lottery chase. Vassell is a talented scorer who could be a long-term piece for the Spurs," Bleacher Report writes. "The team has to start planning for a winning future now that it landed its prize in Wembanyama, but San Antonio has a lot of money to spend, and it's reasonable to think some of that goes to Vassell before the deadline."

3. FROST BANK CENTER OFFICIAL "The Spurs will begin work this month to update arena signage within and outside the Frost Bank Center, including marquee signage, ticket towers, center court jumbotron and other marketing materials," the team said via press release. "The majority of these in-arena and outside signage changes will be made before the start of the season."

4. STEVENS SIGNS WITH CELTICS A former member of the San Antonio Spurs has a new home.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Boston Celtics are signing Lamar Stevens to a deal.

Stevens was traded to the Spurs earlier in the offseason with Cedi Osman from the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he was cut back in the summer to shed some roster space. Now, he joins the contending Celtics to help with their second-unit defense.

5. SNEAKY SPURS? "According to a report from ESPN, the Spurs purposely made sure the pick swap happened after Doncic’s current contract is over. Although this doesn’t guarantee San Antonio anything, it shows that they’re hoping for Doncic to leave the Mavs in ruins around the time the 2030 draft rolls around. If they continue at the trajectory that they ended last season on, that is where they will inevitably be."
