San Antonio Spurs' Keldon Johnson Confident in Team Going Into Season of Spotlight
This season is going to be the most attention that the San Antonio Spurs have gotten since Kawhi Leonard led the team to the second best record in the Western Conference back in 2017.
Ever since then, the Spurs' coverage on television has been dwindling, despite the team's history and coach. But this year, the Spurs will have 19 total televised games, which is almost five times what they had last season when they only had four.
When you have a 7-4 big man who can do everything from shooting threes and dribbling on the perimeter, to erasing shots in the paint, more coverage on television is to be expected. But Victor Wembanyama isn't the only thing that is exciting about this Spurs team. Young star Keldon Johnson talked more about the team as a whole and how they will approach all of these games in his interview at Spurs media day.
"I feel like we've been slept on, and in a sense I feel like we've been overlooked," Johnson said. "At the end of the day, once we get out there on the court, no media outlet can play for us. When I look to the left and right, I feel pretty comfortable with who I've got going to war with me each and every night."
With a possible all-star season coming for Johnson, and a number of other players who have been consistently improving the last couple of seasons, the Spurs could be poised to 'stir some things up'.
