Los Angeles Clippers vs. San Antonio Spurs: 3 Best Bets for Final Matchup

The San Antonio Spurs have lost two games to the Clippers this season and are looking to finally find a victory at home. As usual, we were optimistic with our three best bets.
In this story:

After losing twice to the Los Angeles Clippers already this season, the San Antonio Spurs are hoping to secure a win in their final chance at home. On Monday’s matchup, no Spur aside from Keldon Johnson and Cedi Osman had a positive game, as the Spurs got trounced.

Johnson appears to have finally figured out the Clippers, now San Antonio relies on Victor Wembanyama to also crack the code.

The Clippers will once again be without Mason Plumlee and Brandon Boston Jr. Devin Vassell has been updated to questionable after missing three games, but the shooting guard has said he will play.

The Spurs have claimed that they are going to start winning games, and winning one against a Conference rival before the losing streak hits double digits is as good a time as any. With some degree of urgency, we compiled our three best bets, from the lines at SI Sportsbook.

The Lines

Point spread: Clippers -8.5 (-110)/Spurs +8.5 (-110)

Moneyline: Clippers (-376)/Spurs (+270)

Over/under: 231.5

Our Picks

Safe pick: Keldon Johnson OVER 17.5 points (-133)

After breaking his trend of poor games against the Clippers, Keldon Johnson is hoping for another good game. We’re really banking on him being able to keep his momentum after having a 22-point double-double in the last game, and this unusually low line following a solid game is only low because Vassell is coming back, allegedly.

Redemption pick: Victor Wembanyama OVER 17.5 points (-133)

In the last game, Victor Wembanyama shot poorly en route to only nine points, the second-lowest of his young career. He added only three boards, the lowest he’s racked in the NBA. That being said, Wembanyama has always followed a disappointing game with an absolute showing. As a rookie, he will have bad games, but he’s shown he can bounce back from them.

Popovich on Team's Youth: 'We're Going to be All Over the Map'

Team pick: Spurs +8.5 (-110)

This is more out of desperation than anything else. Seeing the Spurs lose convincingly night in and night out is no fun, so the day before the best holiday of the year, fans could use some cheer. We aren’t asking for a win, just a competitive game that is worth watching well into the fourth quarter. The Spurs are in a unique situation to close out the season series with a win, but that might be over the top.
