Tacko Fall Awaits 'Awkward' Meeting With Spurs' Victor Wembanyma
Not often will San Antonio Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama meet someone that sees eye to eye with him -- in a literal sense.
Former NBA player and 7-6 center Tacko Fall is on the move to China to play for the Nanjing Monkey Kings in the Chinese Basketball Association. Ahead of his move, he joined Stadium's Shams Charania for an interview, where he was asked about potentially meeting Victor Wembanyama.
"We have not," Fall said of potentially having been in the room with Wembanyama.
Charania then asked a follow up question as to what it could be like when they meet.
"Very awkward. It would be weird for me to look somebody in the eye," said Fall. "My neck has a curve from always talking to people. Talking to people face to face would probably be great."
Wembanyama is a young phenom that has pressure mounted on him ahead of his rookie season. It won't take much for the 19-year-old to receiver slander or be labeled a "bust."
"I think he's a great kid," Fall continued. "I just love how he handles himself. The first [Summer League] game, he had kind of a slow game. It's a lot of pressure to put on a kid like that. ...I understand him."
Fall entered the NBA with high hopes and spent a majority of his time in the G League, but he still has an understanding of the pressure on Wembanyama.
"For him to move like that and the things he do is very impressive," Fall said. "I think he has a bright future."
While the only similarity between the two players is their abnormal height, it's great to hear Fall share a level of understanding a positive reinforcement for Wembanyama, as nothing but pressure has been piled on him since joining the league.
