"[Victor Wembanyama] is the closest to Wilt [Chamberlain] that we'll ever see," Metta World Peace said. "This kid is going to beef up, he's gonna get better. ... He's gonna get 101 [points] at some point in time in the next seven years."

San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama has already amassed quite the following.

As if the hype train wasn't already at full capacity, one former NBA player and champion just took things up a notch by making a monumental prediction.

On the latest episode of FanDuel's flagship NBA show, "Run It Back," with insider Shams Charania, former players Chandler Parsons and Lou Williams, and analyst Michelle Beadle, Metta World Peace, who won a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2010, said that Wembanyama will break the in-game scoring record set by Wilt Chamberlain at some point in his career.

"[Victor Wembanyama] is the closest to Wilt [Chamberlain] that we'll ever see," World Peace said. "This kid is going to beef up, he's gonna get better. ... He's gonna get 101 [points] at some point in time in the next seven years."

Out of all the Wembanyama predictions we've seen, this one is probably the most impressive to think about. Physically, Peace is probably correct in that Wembanyama is the closest thing we'll see to Chamberlain. However, Chamberlain played in an era where the overall skill level and athleticism isn't what it is in today's NBA. That's not to discount what the legend accomplished, but rather temper unrealistic expectations for 19-year-old rookie sensation.

Wembanyama Sets Unique NBA Record vs. Blazers

Before Tuesday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Wembanyama was averaging 18.9 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.1 blocks per game. So far, the highest-scoring performance of his young career was when he dropped 38 points on the Phoenix Suns on Nov. 2 in what was just his fifth NBA game.
