There's been a lot of speculation as to whether future No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama will play in next month's Summer League.

Wembanyama wrapped up his season with Metropolitans 92 on Thursday after being swept by Monaco in the Finals. After Thursday's Game 3, Wembanyama shook hands with some Monaco players, one camera and microphone picked up a conversation that San Antonio Spurs fans would love to know.

"Are you going to play Summer League?" one player asked.

It's tough to hear Wembanyama's answer in the loud arena, but a hand gesture seems to suggest that he said "a little bit" in response to his opponent's question.

While this isn't giving us a confirmed answer, we know that this is what the Spurs ultimately want, per NBA insider Marc Stein's reporting.

"The Spurs are hopeful, I'm told, that Victor Wembanyama will indeed be a participant to some degree in summer league play in Las Vegas," NBA insider Marc Stein wrote.

Wembanyama doesn't have much to prove in any summer league and isn't rusty like many of the collegiate players coming out of the draft. The last thing the Spurs would want is for Wembanyama to suffer an injury that switches up his rehab process for the summer and delays his real San Antonio debut, when the games begin to count.

But that may not stop the No. 1 pick from playing with the Spurs sometime in Las Vegas next month.
