Numerous Teams Interested in Hiring Former Suns Coach Monty Williams

Just days after parting ways with the Phoenix Suns, multiple NBA teams have expressed interest in Monty Williams.

Despite being fired from the Phoenix Suns just a few days ago, Monty Williams is already generating interest from some different teams around the league.

The Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons and Toronto Raptors are reportedly interested in Williams’ services via Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Philadelphia 76ers have also entered the Williams sweepstakes according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Bucks and 76ers would be an interesting fit for Williams. Both teams have the pieces to win a championship but have fallen short in the playoffs over the past two seasons.

They might just be a fresh coach away from truly being able to compete for a championship. In just Williams’ second year as head coach in Phoenix, they made the NBA Finals, something the franchise was unable to do since 1993.

With all the talent that Milwaukee and Philadelphia possess, Williams is capable of doing the same thing for them.

Since the Raptors won a championship in 2019, the franchise has been unable to replicate the same level of success and have regressed as a team. With Nick Nurse being relieved of his duties, Toronto is now looking for a new face and voice to help get this team back on track.

They may not have superstars on their roster but with players such as Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet, the Raptors do indeed have some talent to work with. Williams should strongly consider their head coaching position if the opportunity presents itself.

The Pistons have been rebuilding for a while but their young pieces are starting to come together. Players like Jaden Ivy, Cade Cunningham and Killian Hayes could very well become future stars in the NBA. With all of their young talent still developing, it's important that Detroit picks the right head coach to help continue their growth as players.

Williams has a lot to think about regarding his future over the next few weeks.
