Suns Projected to be Top Three Team Next Season
The first NBA win totals for the 2022-23 season have been released, and the Phoenix Suns are again favored to do damage in the regular season.
In odds released by PointsBet, the Suns have one of the highest regular season win totals across the league with a projected over/under of 52.5 wins. With -120 odds to hit the over and +100 to hit the under, the first batch of oddsmakers to release this type of futures bet think highly of the Suns.
Phoenix still finds themselves in the running for Kevin Durant, which could sway their rankings if he indeed lands in the Valley.
Due to potential deals for Durant, Kyrie Irving and Donovan Mitchell, teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks and Utah Jazz do not currently have published totals for the public to wager on.
Here's the top projected win totals for the 2022-23 season:
Projected 2022-23 NBA Win Totals
1. Boston Celtics 55.5
T-2. Los Angeles Clippers 52.5
T-2. Phoenix Suns 52.5
4. Milwaukee Bucks 51.5
T-5. Denver Nuggets 50.5
T-5. Golden State Warriors 50.5
T-5. Memphis Grizzlies 50.5
T-5. Philadelphia 76ers 50.5
T-9. Miami Heat 49.5
T-9. Minnesota Timberwolves 49.5
When it comes to regular season success, nobody has enjoyed it quite like the Suns have in the last few years. In the 2020-21 season, Phoenix hit over 50 wins for the first time since 2009-10.
Last season, the Suns set a franchise record by recording 64 wins prior to the postseason. They were eight games above the next-highest team and were the only squad to reach the 60+ win mark.
Should Phoenix hit 50+ wins again, it would mark the first time since the mid-to-late 2000's (where they accumulated totals of 62, 54, 61 and 55 from 2004-08) where the franchise strung together three consecutive 50-win seasons.
