Grayson Allen Addresses Suns Future, Trade Rumors
PHOENIX -- Much has been made about the Phoenix Suns' big three of Bradley Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, though a fourth player has made their way into conversation.
Not many expected Grayson Allen to contribute in the manner he has after being snagged in the blockbuster trade that saw Deandre Ayton depart Phoenix - though his tough defense and superb scoring ability has cemented his name in the starting lineup.
With Allen's spectacular play, plenty of trade rumors have surrounded his name as the league's Feb. 8 deadline continues to crawl closer. Phoenix is rumored to be active in the market and Allen is their biggest trade chip if they desire something significant in return.
If it were up to Allen, he'd stay with the team:
“My name has been in someone’s tweet every year since I’ve been in the league, so I hardly pay any attention to it. Usually it brings a smile to my face because it's funny. I've loved playing here this season, I've loved playing with this team," said Allen after practice this week.
"I don't want to be traded. I'm not worried about it."
Allen is set to emerge as a free agent after the 2023-24 season, though the Suns do own his Bird rights - meaning they can ink him to an extension if Phoenix is willing to go deeper into the luxury tax.
Recently, Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro shot down the idea of Allen being traded. You can read more on that below:
