Report: Former Suns Player Frank Kaminsky Signs With Atlanta
On Friday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported big man Frank Kaminsky would be signing with the Atlanta Hawks.
Kaminsky now joins Aaron Holiday as former Phoenix Suns players to join Atlanta this offseason. Phoenix also acquired Jock Landale from Atlanta for cash considerations just a few days ago.
Kaminsky initially entered the league as a top ten pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, playing four years with the Charlotte Hornets before signing a two-year, $10 million deal with the Suns in 2019.
Kaminsky played a total of 95 games for Phoenix after leaving and eventually rejoining the squad, averaging 8.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest. After suffering a stress reaction in his right knee this season, Kaminsky was ruled out indefinitely and never returned to the team.
He was officially waived on April 7, and fans noticed a change in his Twitter bio that read, "After all this time?" perhaps taking a shot at the Suns.
Fans hoped to welcome the 29-year-old back to the squad, especially if Deandre Ayton is set to leave the squad.
However, Kaminsky now packs his bag for Atlanta.
The Suns saw JaVale McGee walk in free agency but did welcome Bismack Biyombo back to the team.
