Report: Suns Expected to Pursue Reggie Jackson After Potential Buyout

The Phoenix Suns may not be done after a hectic NBA trade deadline day. Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes reveals the team is expected to go after point guard Reggie Jackson if he's bought out of his current deal.

The Phoenix Suns may have made some major waves at the NBA trade deadline, but the movement may not be done.

The Suns executed two trades in the last 24 hours:

Kevin Durant and TJ Warren were acquired from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges and four first-round picks with a pick swap in 2028.

Also, Dario Saric and a second-round pick made their way to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Darius Bazley.

Durant's presence alone now creates quite the lineup alongside Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton and Chris Paul, yet the Suns may not be done.

NBA on TNT insider Chris Haynes reports Phoenix is expected to pursue point guard Reggie Jackson if he's bought out of his current contract with the Charlotte Hornets after being traded from the Los Angeles Clippers

"I'm gonna say right now: As it pertains to Reggie Jackson, if he gets his buyout from Charlotte, expect the Phoenix Suns to come in there and try to get his services," said Haynes.

The Suns have been reportedly eying different options to eventually replace Chris Paul's shoes down the line. Paul is 37-years-old.

This season, Jackson has averaged 10.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 25.7 minutes per night with the Clippers prior to being traded.

Phoenix has awaited the reemergence of Cam Payne from a foot injury, and also has Saben Lee to run the point as well.

Jackson isn't much younger than Paul at 32 years of age, yet he would provide some serviceable minutes behind CP3 down the stretch of the season.
