Andre Iguodala Reveals Major Difference Between Warriors and Heat

The Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat have different approaches

Having played for both the Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors, veteran forward Andre Iguodala has gotten to experience two of the best organizations in basketball. While both Golden State and Miami have experienced a lot of success over the last decade, the two cultures are very different, according to Iguodala.

Appearing on JJ Redick's The Old Man and the Three podcast, Iguodala said, "On the other side of it, sometimes with the Warriors coming into halftime in the locker room I'd be like, 'Yo, will y'all tighten up please?' We got our total-game turnovers at halftime. We always had a turnover problem. We were last in the league last year in turnovers. We turned the ball over the second-most in the league... So now I got to do the reverse, like, 'Lock in.' At one place its, 'Relax, we worked hard, we're good.' But on the other side it's like, 'We know we're going to win, but c'mon, let's lock in.' We had to have those conversations a lot."

What Iguodala was saying, is that Miami was often too intense, and the Warriors were often too loose. Both elite teams, the Heat and Warriors took different approaches. For Miami, Iguodala believes they were too hard on themselves at times, whereas the Warriors could benefit from more focus to make things easier on them.
