A recent report from ESPN's Kendra Andrews revealed that Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is expected to be available for opening night. Andrews added that Green will be questionable for Golden State's two preseason games, but said, "[The Warriors] are sure that he will be back by opening night."

This is a big update, because the initial timeline made it seem likely that Green would miss time to start the season. Now with this latest development, the Warriors could even have him back at some point during the preseason.

Getting Green back as soon as possible will be huge for the Warriors, because he is in the middle of everything they do offensively and defensively. With a lot to work through on how Green will work alongside Chris Paul, the Warriors would love to get those two some game reps before the season begins. If Green cannot play in the preseason, Golden State would of course love for him to be back opening night, and it seems that is going to happen.

This is a big season for the Warriors. Having pivoted from their two-timeline plan, there seems to be a real urgency to get one more championship with this core. Each season that passes makes it more difficult to win at the highest level, so this is a big season for Golden State.
