Draymond Green Reacts to Facing LeBron James and Lakers in Playoffs
The Golden State Warriors are set to face LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. When asked about this following a massive Game 7 victory over the Sacramento Kings, Warriors forward Draymond Green detailed the significance of this Warriors core facing off with LeBron again.
"You're talking about some of the ultimate competitors," Green said, "LeBron is one of the ultimate competitors. Steph, Klay, myself, [Looney], ultimate competitors. And so to have these opportunities, we don't take [them] for granted... Here we are eight years later since we first met in a playoff series, and still playing at that level. That's special. It says a lot."
On the series itself, Green said, "This series against the Lakers is going to be epic. You got Steph, you got [LeBron] doing it all over again. We've never played against the Lakers in a playoff series. We get to experience that."
Green added one final message, saying, "Stop trying to turn the page on us so fast. Stop trying to turn the page on Bron so fast. We get so caught up in what’s the next thing that we don’t appreciate the current. And then you get to that next thing and looking back like, 'I wish we still had this. I wish we could still see this.' For me and our guys, we’re going to appreciate this every step of the way."
