NBA Admits Blown Call in Warriors vs. Kings Game
The NBA's Last Two Minute Report for Game 5 between the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings says that Steph Curry committed a carrying violation on his layup with 22 seconds remaining. While that missed call has gotten a lot of attention over the last day, the NBA also admitted two other missed calls that benefitted the Kings.
The first missed call in the Last Two Minute report for Game 5 came when Kings forward Harrison Barnes should have been whistled for a defensive three-second violation with just over one minute remaining. The play ended in Barnes taking a charge, when it should have been one free throw and possession for Golden State.
The only other missed call in the Last Two Minute Report also benefitted Sacramento, as Harrison Barnes should have been whistled for a foul for clamping Kevon Looney's arm on a rebound attempt with 16 seconds remaining. The Kings ended up securing an offensive rebound on the play.
The NBA's Last Two Minute Report is always an interesting topic of conversation, because while it suggests a level of accountability, it ultimately changes nothing about what occurred in the final two minutes of a game. While there has been a lot of discussion about the missed carrying violation on Curry's layup, two other missed calls went in favor of the Kings, which makes it hard to focus too much on what the league says Curry got away with.
