It was reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that former Golden State Warriors forward Kelly Oubre is expected to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers. Oubre started 50 games for the Warriors during the 2020-21 season before spending the last two seasons with the Charlotte Hornets.

Appearing in 48 games for Charlotte last season, Oubre averaged a career-high 20.3 PPG. While he shot just 43.1% from the field and 31.9% from deep, he certainly had his moments offensively, and will bolster a 76ers team that has been adding some veterans this summer.

With limited playoff experience, Oubre isn't the exact veteran type the 76ers have seemingly been targeting this summer, but he could serve as a solid depth wing throughout the season. It's unclear how the 76ers would plan to use Oubre, since it certainly wouldn't be as the high-volume shot taker he was in Charlotte, but there could definitely be some value for Philly in this deal.

The remaining NBA free agents have been locking down deals over the last week, as training cams are set to begin at the beginning of next month. The 76ers still have a lot to figure out between now and then, but they are certainly operating as a team that expects to be in contention next season.

For Oubre, this is a chance to play on a playoff team for one of the few times in his career.
