The Golden State Warriors have two open roster spots available, along with two additional two-way slots, and have been conducting workouts with NBA free agents to find potential fits for those openings. In a recent Tweet, 2014 Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams confirmed that he would be working out for Golden State.

It has been an interesting career for Carter-Williams, because his rookie year remains his best season in the NBA. While the former lottery pick has been unable to replicate the success he had in his rookie campaign, Carter-Williams has still put together nearly a decade in the league, and is looking to continue his career with a potential opportunity with Golden State.

Injuries have really limited the production of and availability of Carter-Williams, which has made it even more difficult for him to find consistency at the NBA level. That said, he has shown some flashes of quality play when available the last few seasons, most notably with his playmaking and rebounding ability as a 6'5" guard.

While efficiency has remained an issue for Carter-Williams, especially for a player who takes very few outside shots, he is likely not being evaluated for his scoring ability at this stage of his career. Offering size and possible defensive versatility as a pass-first guard, Carter-Williams could fill a very specific role if he lands an NBA roster spot.
