As talented as he is offensively, it is well known that Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole is not an elite defender. While there are not many steps Poole can take to become elite on that end, there are certainly ways he can be better, which makes a huge difference when considering what he provides offensively.

When it comes to effort, awareness, and anticipation, these are three ways the Warriors would like to see Jordan Poole improve on the defensive end. Playing better on that end in Friday night's win over the Philadelphia 76ers, Poole was asked by the broadcast team after the game if this is the playoff version of himself. Laughing and saying that this is "Playoff JP", the talented guard said the broadcast team should know that by now, which is why he doesn’t want to hear any more slander.

It was a fun and lighthearted conversation between Poole and the broadcast team, but it was funny to hear him mention the slander about his defense in that way. The Warriors picked up a huge victory against a very good Philadelphia 76ers team, and once again gained ground on a Phoenix Suns team that has now lost three-straight games.

If the Warriors can continue their winning ways, home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs is still very much a possibility. This once seemed incredibly unlikely with how much Golden State was struggling, but they have begun to find a bit of a rhythm lately, and will look to keep this going as they finish out the season.
