Klay Thompson Shares Honest Thoughts on Facing LeBron James /

This Golden State Warriors core has a lot of history with LeBron James, having faced him four-straight years in the NBA Finals from 2015-2018. Defeating him in three of those years, Golden State has had a lot of success against James, but they understand that this Lakers team is a much different challenge.

Warriors guard Klay Thompson elaborated on this following Golden State's Game 2 victory, saying, "It's still weird seeing LeBron as a Laker because of the history the Warriors and the Cavs had. But LeBron is one of those special players. The [Michael Jordans], the [Kobe Bryants], LeBron will bring out the best in you. Especially from a competitive standpoint. It's always an honor to match up against the greats. It's not us vs. LeBron James, though. They have a very complete team, the Lakers do. The fact that he's still doing this at 38 years old is incredible and inspiring for athletes everywhere."

Klay's answer was in response to a question that brought up his Game 2 stat line, and how it was identical to one of the stat lines he had in the 2017 Finals against James and the Cavaliers. Asked to elaborate on that matchup, Thompson shared a lot of high praise for James, but made sure to acknowledge that this Lakers team is more than just one player.
