Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James knew Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry would be special. The two superstars have faced off several times on the NBA’s biggest stage, but it was Steph Curry‘s performance in college that first caught LeBron's eye.

James shared a message for Curry on his Instagram story, re-posting a picture of the two when Curry was in college. James said in his caption that he knew the Warriors superstar would be special. James was certainly correct, as Curry has gone on to win two league MVPs, four NBA championships, and a finals MVP.

Having already accumulated countless accolades, Curry is certainly not done either. He will almost certainly be selected to an All-NBA team this season, adding another one of those to his resume, and he still has an opportunity to make noise in the playoffs as well.

The individual matchup between Curry and James has defined this era of basketball, as there was a time when fans entered the new season knowing it was going to be those two facing off in the NBA Finals. It is always cool to see two legends show respect to one another, and that has always been the case with Curry and James. While they have had their battles on the court, there is a high level of mutual respect off the court, which is regularly displayed. Sharing a message for Curry on his Instagram story, James made sure to let people know that he knew the Warriors superstar was going to be great.
