Luka Doncic Makes History in Warriors vs. Mavericks Game
The Golden State Warriors got a huge win over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night, winning consecutive road games and creating additional separation between themselves and the play-in tournament. It was a hard-fought game from start to finish, as the Warriors were able to survive a big time performance from Mavericks star Luka Doncic.
While he was on the losing side of things in this one, Doncic did make a bit of history, passing Mark Aguirre for the most 30-point games in a season in Dallas Mavericks history. With his 41st 30-point game of the season, Doncic became the Mavericks leader in 30-point games in a single season. Doncic also had 17 assists to go along with his 30 points, as it was an all-around dominant showing from the superstar guard.
Being able to survive this performance from Doncic while getting a win on the road has to feel great for a Warriors team that has struggled mightily away from Chase Center all season long. Now with a small winning streak on the road, Golden State will look to make these last two games a real turning point in their season, specifically away from home. This was a big win for many reasons, with the Western Conference standings being right at the top of that list. Remaining in sixth place with this victory, Golden State created a bit more breathing room between themselves and the play-in tournament.
