Warriors Player Speaks on Severity of Andrew Wiggins Situation
The Golden State Warriors have been without Andrew Wiggins for 13 games now as he tends to a family matter. There have been conflicting reports about the possibility of him returning this season, but what is clear is that Wiggins is dealing with something serious.
Marcus Thompson of The Athletic reported in article that an anonymous Warriors player said, "What he's dealing with is some real (expletive)," when asked about Wiggins. Thompson added that the Warriors have been intentional about protecting Wiggins, and keeping his private life private. All that is known at this point is that it's something serious.
Steph Curry recently spoke on Wiggins, saying, "Friend to friend, teammate to teammate, just sending him support. It's a tough situation in terms of him being away for so long, but necessary. Life is bigger than basketball. Whatever him and his family are going through, that's all that matters. Whenever he's ready to come back, I'm sure he will. That's how he's built in terms of being available. I know he's missing the vibe and being with us and we miss him too."
Curry also added, "It's interesting, there's such a big spotlight on what we do on a daily basis and the fact that we have so many people that rely on us on a daily basis. To be able to give that energy back to your family is huge. We support him in all of that and whenever he's ready to come back, he'll be back."
Between what Curry said publicly and what Marcus Thompson reported in his article, Andrew Wiggins has support from the entire Warriors organization.
