NBA Admits Missed Call in Warriors vs. Mavericks Game
There was a lot of controversy in Wednesday night's Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks game, most notably with the bizarre play when Golden State got a free basket while the Mavericks were on the other end of the court. Team owner Mark Cuban was vocally upset with the play, and the Mavericks are protesting the game due to that confusion. The league's Last Two Minute Report has been released, and while the most controversial sequence happened outside of the last two minutes, the NBA did admit a different missed call.
According to the Last Two Minute Report, the only incorrect call in the last two minutes of Wednesday night's game was a missed travel call on Luka Doncic with 36.4 seconds remaining in the game. The missed travel on Doncic occurred shortly before the star guard launched a three to beat the shot clock. The shot from Doncic missed, and the Warriors regained possession.
It is important to note that what occurred on that controversial play at the end of the third quarter would not be something that appeared on the Last Two Minute Report, and any ruling on that play from the NBA will come in a separate announcement. With the NBA already releasing an explanation on what occurred during that controversial sequence, it feels unlikely that the appeal from Dallas will be successful, but it will still be a situation to monitor.
For now, the NBA has admitted one missed call in the final two minutes of that crucial game, and it was a missed travel on Luka Doncic.
