With Jordan Poole getting a fresh start on the Washington Wizards, some believe he is ready to showcase abilities he wouldn't have the freedom to showcase on the Golden State Warriors. An integral piece to Golden State's 2022 title run, Poole earned himself a big contract extension, but took a step back last season. While this was likely aided by his preseason incident with Draymond Green, Poole also became an awkward fit with a Warriors team that needed him to fill a more controlled role.

Now in Washington without championship expectations or a roster full of veterans, Poole will have the freedom to explore all areas of his game. Speaking during a recent episode of KG Certified, NBA legend Kevin Garnett predicted a breakout for Poole similar to the one James Harden had after his trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Houston Rockets.

"Jordan Poole is the new James Harden," Garnett said. "Y'all remember when James Harden left OKC and got to Houston? Man, this the Jordan Poole show... This dynamic, this little duo (with Kyle Kuzma) is the new duo in the league. Not only these two have that showmanship in them, but I think Jordan Poole feels like he’s been held back. That’s how I thought James Harden felt coming out of OKC."

This is an interesting comparison, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
