NBA Twitter Resurfaces Draymond Green's Negative Chris Paul Comments
Anyone who has watched their battles over the years could tell that Draymond Green and Chris Paul were not the biggest fans of each other on the court. Now teammates with the Golden State Warriors, assuming Green re-signs, the two will have to put that behind them.
Upon the news breaking that Paul would be heading to Golden State, fans resurfaced Green's previous comments about not liking him at all. These comments from Green came during a 2020 episode of All The Smoke, which is a podcast hosted by Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes.
"I don't like CP at all," Green said of Paul. "Like we don't have a good relationship at all, but I respect his hustle and I respect his IQ."
Green then continued by explaining his view on the dynamic between Chris Paul and Steph Curry, saying that Paul recognized Curry coming up as the next great point guard, and would try to keep Curry at bay while also giving him a stiff arm at the same time. Green said he recognized this, and would try to create division between Curry and Paul.
It's important to note that a lot can change in three years, and Paul recently included Green's name when listing the players he is excited to compete alongside in Golden State. This is far from the first time that former rivals have become teammates, and if Green re-signs with the Warriors, it shouldn't be hard for he and Paul to put their previous on-court troubles behind them and combine their competitive forces together.
