After some chaos that held the trade up longer than anybody expected, the Golden State Warriors have officially parted ways with young center James Wiseman. The former second-overall pick was unable to establish himself as a consistent NBA player with the Warriors, and will now start his new chapter with the Detroit Pistons.

Warriors superstar Steph Curry recently addressed the media before Golden State played the Washington Wizards, and was asked about Wiseman. While things did not work out in Golden State, Curry is rooting for Wiseman to succeed in his next chapter.

"We all love James, like that's the biggest thing," Curry said. "It's a guy you root for, it's a guy that you know will be able to figure it out, it's a guy that approaches each part of his job the right way, has a great attitude considering everything he's been through and the expectations around him and the conversations around him... A lot of confidence that he'll be around this league a long time. I don't know what his ceiling is, it's a guy I want to see figure it out and have an opportunity."

While there was no real path to minutes on this Warriors team, Wiseman projects to play a significant role in Detroit's rebuild. As Steph Curry noted, he will always have supporters within the Warriors organization.
