Warriors Expected to Sign Key Free Agent

The Warriors are reportedly likely to sign a new big man.

The Golden State Warriors are on the hunt for a new big man, and it seems like they may have found their guy. According to a report from Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area, the Warriors have a high probability of signing unrestricted free agent Dario Saric.

Poole believes the Warriors want Saric because he's a stretch four with a high basketball IQ, while still being under the age of 30. Last season for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Saric averaged 7.4 points and 3.3 rebounds on 52/39/84 shooting, in only 13.7 minutes a game off the bench. Joining the Warriors would reunite Saric with Chris Paul, who both played together on the Phoenix Suns. They'd likely both be in the same lineup against off the bench for Golden State.

In terms of it, Saric could very easily thrive on the Warriors. In a limited-minutes situation, having a stretch four that's legitimately capable of shooting is a great benefit for any team. If there's a team that loves spacing the floor and making opponents pay by spreading them out, it's the Golden State Warriors.

It's worth noting that as of right now, it's still a "high probability" that the Warriors are going to sign Saric, and he hasn't fully signed yet. NBA free agency is here, and it's that season of refreshing Twitter.
