Warriors GM Bob Myers Gives Injury Update on Steph Curry
The Golden State Warriors badly need Steph Curry back. As it stands, the team is currently 29-29 with a realistic chance of having to be in the play-in tournament. Despite Curry missing the last five games, he's trying to be out on the court as soon as possible.
According to an interview Warriors GM Bob Myers did with 95.7 The Game, Steph Curry will return as soon as possible.
"I'm here at the facility, [Curry] is here rehabbing," Myers said. "Steph is so uniquely disciplined and motivated without anyone telling him. His level of discpline to return, is his own. He wants it. He wants to be back. He will return as soon as possible."
Unfortunately, it feels like the Warriors deal with a Steph Curry injury almost every single year. He's already missed 20 games this season with the team, missed 18 games last season, and 9 games the season before. It's starting to become a recurring situation that the Warriors need to do a better job of adapting to. Much of that responsibility falls on Andrew Wiggins, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole, but defensively, it just hasn't been enough. The Warriors were hoping with the addition of Gary Payton II, they could immediately return to that championship defense they had last season, but it wasn't the case.
The All-Star break will give Steph Curry an extra week to return, and it'll do wonders if he can somehow return by mid-March. When that happens, it's game on.
