WATCH: Chris Paul's Hilarious Reaction to Steph Curry's Trash Talk
Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry had some incredible trash talk for Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul in Monday night's win. Referencing the 2014 playoff series between the Clippers and Warriors, which was the last time Golden State lost a series before the NBA Finals, Curry told Paul, "This ain't 2014 anymore" after scoring a bucket on him.
Paul was asked about this trash talk after the game, and hilariously acted as if he did not hear Curry or understand the reference. Known for his unmatched attention to detail, it's hard to imagine Paul actually does not remember what happened between he and Curry in 2014, which made his response that much funnier.
Curry and Paul have had several battles over the years, including three playoff series against one another. Curry's Warriors defeated Paul's Rockets in 2018 and 2019, with Paul getting a series victory over Golden State with the Clippers in 2014. Since that first-round loss in 2014, the Warriors have won four of the last eight titles, while Paul has remained ringless despite playing on some loaded teams.
Curry made sure to remind Paul that his days of having any upper hand in their matchups are long gone. Curry and the Warriors really turned a corner after 2014, and have dominated the league since. After scoring a bucket on him, Steph Curry made sure to remind Chris Paul of this.
