Washington Wizards and Forward Kyle Kuzma Announce New Thanksgiving Community Effort
The Washington Wizards are coming off a solid 132-116 win over the Charlotte Hornet led by forward Kyle Kuzma's 33 points in 31 minutes.
Kuzma is also leading a new effort off the court in partnership with the Wizards, announcing Thankful Meals with Monumental Basketball and the Kyle Kuzma Foundation presented by Carefirst BlueCross BlueShield.

"Monumental Basketball and The Kyle Kuzma Family Foundation, along with athletes and staff from the Washington Wizards, Washington Mystics, Capital City Go-Go, and Wizards District Gaming have partnered to host Thankful Meals," a press release from the team reads. "A community outreach effort to serve residents in Wards 7 and 8."
According to the release, Thankful Meals will happen on Saturday, November 18th at Eagle Academy Public Charter School from 2 P.M. local time until 4:30 P.M.
Confirmed to be attending the event will be John Thompson III (Sr. Vice President, Monumental Basketball), Will Dawkins (general manager, Washington Wizards), Wizards coaches Wes Unseld Jr. and his wife, and David Vanterpool, and players like Kuzma, Bilal Coulibaly, Tyus and Carrie Jones, and Daniel and DaShaundra Gafford.
"CareFirst is thrilled to continue to support and advance health equity in the District," said Kimberly Harris, Director of Community Health and Social Impact at CareFirst. "We're expanding our community efforts by supplying individuals and families throughout Ward 8 with the necessary resources to live healthy, safe lives, especially during the holiday season."

Also attending the event will be Amber Nichols, the general manager of Capital City Go-Go and team mascots 'G-Wiz' and 'Pax' among others.
Among items and services being distributed those in attendance will receive a GIANT Food gift card with up to $25,000 worth of awards being given out.
Kuzma will also help dish out 1,500 hot meals from Henry's Soul Café, a local black-owned restaurant, that will include traditional Thanksgiving meal items.
The event will be first come first served.
