Washington Wizards Forward Corey Kispert's Play Off the Ball Improving Steadily
The main story surrounding the Washington Wizards is their three-game winning streak to open NBA preseason, especially coming off a 131-106 win in Madison Square Garden over the New York Knicks.
Wizards forward Corey Kispert played over 21 wins and contributed eight points on 50 percent shooting from the floor.
Following a play where Corey Kispert and guard Tyus Jones executed a two-man pass and cut play for a score, Monumental Sports Network reporter Meghan McPeak shared a story about the Wizards forward and comments from former NBA player JJ Reddick.
"Typically what we're used to seeing is actually the flipside, Corey making those cuts," McPeak said during the game broadcast. "And it actually prompted former three-point sharpshooter JJ Reddick to have comments about Corey's off-ball movement."

The comments McPeak referred to were made in September when Reddick talked about Kispert's shooting skills but added further praise for his movement off-ball.
"I actually really enjoyed watching him play last year, and he can shoot the (expletive) out of the ball," Reddick said about Kispert. "But I really enjoyed him off the ball, his cutting, deception, all that stuff.
Well, Kispert heard those compliments from Reddick and shared some thoughts of his own which McPeak shared on the air Wednesday night.
"JJ and I have had a lot of conversations going back a couple of years," Kispert said according to McPeak. "To see him not only compliment me on my shooting, but he spent a lot more time complimenting me on what I do off the ball, and that to an untrained eye is really hard to pick up."
What's not hard to pick up is that this Washington roster is playing well within themselves and looks more promising than many might have expected this early in the year.

With the regular season tipping off October 25th against the Indiana Pacers, the continued chemistry and effort of guys like Kispert will need to be maintained for the Wizards to continue growing within the rebuilding the franchise is in the early stages of executing.
