The Wizards have been to the free throw line 12 times and converted all 12.
They're taking advantage of a Pistons weakness as they lead the league in opponent free throw attempts with 27.6 a game.
Another player that is performing well for Washington is forward Kyle Kuzma who has seven points, five assist, and four rebounds.
Bench scoring has been an advantage for the Wizards with a 23-16 edge.
Forward Danilo Gallinari is leading the way for the bench with nine points and two three-pointers.
Detroit is dominating the post with 38-24 points down low going 19-for-31 on shots in the paint.
The Pistons leading scorer is rookie forward Ausar Thompson with 12 points on 66 percent shooting.
For Washington to keep the lead tonight they will need to keep Detroit off the offensive glass and force them to turn the ball over and convert those turnovers into points.
Continuing to get to the free throw line will also give the Wizards a better chance at coming away with a win.
