Wizards On Deck To Help Future Hall of Fame Guard Near NBA History
The Washington Wizards came out of the NBA All-Star Break with a bang in a way only this team could these days.
With the future fully in focus, several teams in the association have used their matchups against the Wizards to work on kinks in their game, rest starters, or gain an advantage in making a bit of history.
Most recently, in the first game back from the break, Washington attempted with futility to keep Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic from earning a triple-double as the only team that had done so thus far in his legendary career.
They failed but now stand in the halls of NBA history under the tab labeled 'Jokic'.
And right around the corner is a matchup with the Golden State Warriors and guard Chris Paul who is pursuing his own piece of history this season.
Needing less than 400 to pass guard Jason Kidd for second all-time in the stat Paul's efforts were derailed by a hand injury that forced him out for a month.
With his return nearing, however, he'll be looking to get back on track toward overtaking Kidd, and a contest against Washington presents a sweet opportunity for him to get a good chunk of them in one outing.
Before the team's Friday night matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder the Wizards are allowing 30 assists per game, most in the NBA.

Paul surely won't get all 30 of them on February 27th when the two teams face off at Capital One Arena, but he could certainly hit double-digits if healthy enough to run the floor for his new team against the old team that never was.
