The season for the Washington Wizards have been a historic one in a negative way thus far as they are off to a terrible start at 4-22. They are currently on a two game losing streak and are second to last to having the worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Bilal Coulibaly Wants Respect Put On His Name

However, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Despite losing and struggling, there are always some positives takeaways from every game on each and every night. Those positive vibes could be the emergence of rookie Bilal Coulibaly. It could also be the fact that Daniel Gafford is underrated and deserves a larger role as he seems to be improving on a nightly basis. All of those are good takeaways and observations for the Washington Wizards this season. But they aren’t the reason the Wizards have been competing harder every game. Well, what is the reason why the Wizards have been a bit more competitive as of late?

Is Daniel Gafford Being Underutilized?

It is always good to give credit when it is due. Wes Unseld deserves some credit here. He hasn’t been making the right decisions in his coaching and rotations a lot thus far this season. However, he seems to be finding something that works. That something is the combination of Kyle Kuzma and Jordan Poole.

Kyle Kuzma And Jordan Poole's Chemistry Is ‘Work in Progress’

All season long, Kyle Kuzma has been putting the team and carrying a heavy load on his shoulders for the Wizards this season. Jordan Poole was brought here to be Robin to Batman. Now, Jordan Poole is finally figuring things out and the Wizards are starting to look very competitive now. Their competitiveness may not always result in wins. However, the games are much more closer with Kuzma and Poole both playing well alongside each other. Batman always needed help. That help could have came from Alfred (Wes Unseld) or Robin (Jordan Poole) who doesn’t seem to be The Boy Wonder anymore. As long as Jordan Poole and Kyle Kuzma are both scoring 20+ points per game, this Wizards team will offer a lot of rough nights for their opponents.
