Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne was active for the team's preseason game Saturday against the New Orleans Saints, the Colts announced Saturday evening.

It's the first time Wayne has been active since he tore his right ACL in a Week 7 game against the Denver Broncos last season.

Colts owner Jim Irsay could face court dates during season

Colts coach Chuck Pagano said earlier this week Wayne would be a game-time decision. Wayne said recently he feels ready to play, but the Colts have been cautious with the 35-year-old's recovery process.

Wayne had 38 catches for 503 yards and two touchdowns before tearing his ACL last year. The six-time Pro Bowler is entering his 14th NFL season, all with Indianapolis.

The Colts open the regular season Sept. 7 at the Broncos.
