Ray McDonald released from jail, says 'I'm a good-hearted person'
San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Ray McDonald was released from jail Sunday morning after being arrested on domestic violence charges. Local television station KTVU spoke with McDonald as he left the jail.

"I can’t say too much right now but the truth will come out," McDonald said. "Everybody knows what kind of person I am. I’m a good-hearted person."
The NFL announced changes to its domestic violence policy last week. A first offense will result in a six-game suspension, "with consideration given to mitigating factors", while a second offense results in an indefinite suspension with the ability to apply for reinstatement after one year.

According to KTVU's Janine De la Vega, the 49ers will not say if McDonald will play in the team's Week 1 game in Dallas against the Cowboys.
