Michael Vick will start at quarterback for Jets next week vs. Steelers
New York Jets quarterback Michael Vick will start next week in the team's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, head coach Rex Ryan said after the Jets' 24-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Vick started in place of Geno Smith against the Chiefs after relieving Smith in the Jets' loss to the Buffalo Bills last Sunday, when Smith threw an interception on three consecutive possessions.
Smith was inactive against Kansas City due to an injured shoulder and it's unknown when he'll be able to play.
Vick completed 21 of 28 passes for 196 yards and one touchdown against the Chiefs. He left the game early in the fourth quarter after appearing to take a hit to the head but later returned. Matt Simms replaced Vick before his return.

The start against Kansas City was Vick's first since Oct. 27 of last season, when he was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. He signed a one-year contract with the Jets over the offseason.
Overall this season, Vick has completed 56 percent of his passes for 396 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
