The Philadelphia Eaglesannounced on Monday that they have signed Tebow, who worked out with the team last month.

Tebow, 27, did not play in the NFL last season while serving as an analyst on the SEC Network and a correspondent for Good Morning America.

The New England Patriots signed Tebow in 2013 but released him before the 53-man roster deadline. He last appeared in a game in 2012 with the New York Jets.

Tebow appeared in 23 games over two seasons with the Denver Broncos after the team selected him in the first round of the 2010 draft. In 2011, he led the Broncos to a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

Five quarterbacks currently are under contract with the Eagles: Sam Bradford, Matt Barkley, Mark Sanchez and G.J. Kinne, a member of the team's practice squad.
