Report: Browns may be open to trading OT Joe Thomas, C Alex Mack
The Cleveland Browns have been in talks about potentially trading away star offensive tackle Joe Thomas and center Alex Mack, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
The news come just a few days before the Nov. 3 trade deadline. A move for the two linemen, who are considered among the top players on Cleveland’s roster, would likely have a high return and signal that the Browns are abandoning this season.
Thomas has been named to the Pro Bowl roster each of the eight seasons since he was taken No. 3 in the 2007 NFL Draft. He has been named first-team All-Pro five of the last six seasons.
Mack had his best season in 2013, being named second-team All-Pro.
Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports that the Browns have also made it known that they are willing to trade linebacker Barkevious Mingo.
Mingo has started two games this season, making six tackles and grabbing an interception. He has tallied 61 takles and seven sacks in 37 games since being taken by the Browns in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
The Browns play the Arizona Cardinals at home on Sunday.
