Seattle Seahawks WR Ricardo Lockette to undergo neck surgery
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette will undergo surgery to stabilize ligament damage in his neck and miss the rest of the 2015 season, the team announced Monday.
Lockette injured his neck in a violent collision with Dallas Cowboys safety Jeff Heath during punt coverage on Sunday. The team says Lockette has “full motion and feeling in all extremities.”
Lockette laid motionless on the turf after the play until he was eventually removed from the field. He raised his arms up to fans as he was carted off.
A fifth year pro, Lockette has four catches for 69 yards and one touchdown for Seattle this season. He also plays special teams, where he has recorded four tackles in eight games.
