Seahawks WR Ricardo Lockette released from hospital
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette has been released from the hospital after undergoing neck surgery, he announced via Instagram on Thursday.
“Thanks for all the support. I’ve just been released from the hospital and the road to recovery has started!!!” Lockette wrote.
Lockette sustained the injury to his neck during last Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. The wide receiver collided with Cowboys safety Jeff Heath during punt coverage and then laid motionless on the field before he was carted off.
Lockette required surgery to stabilize ligament damage in his neck. According to the Seahawks, Lockette has “full motion and feeling in all extremities.”
In addition to the ligament damage, Lockette also suffered a concussion and disk injury. Head coach Pete Carroll said that Lockette will not play for the remainder of the 2015 season.
The Seahawks signed Lockette as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He has four catches for 69 yards and one touchdown for Seattle this season. He also plays special teams, where he has recorded four tackles in eight games.
