Peyton Manning will not start for the Denver Broncos in Week 11 against the Chicago Bears, coach Gary Kubiak said Monday.

Manning was benched during Denver’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Manning played the game with a partially torn plantar fascia in his left foot, according to multiple reports.

Brock Osweiler will replace Manning as the starting quarterback. Sunday's contest will mark Manning's first missed start of his career outside 2011, when he missed the entire season due to a neck injury.

Manning was listed as probable to play before Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a rib cage injury in addition to the plantar fasciitis he had been dealing with all week. After the game, Kubiak said that he should not have started Manning in light of his various injuries.

The four-time MVP has struggled for much of 2015. Manning’s 67.6 passer rating would be the lowest mark in a single season of his career. Manning has thrown nine touchdowns and 17 interceptions in nine games this season, though the Broncos are 7–2.
