The Ravens have claimed quarterback Jimmy Clausen off waivers, the team announced on Tuesday.
Clausen was waived by the Chicago Bears on Monday after two seasons. A second-round pick of the Panthers in 2010, he spent the first four years of his career in Carolina.
The Ravens were short a quarterback, after starter Joe Flaccotore his ACL and MCL in a Week 11 win over the Rams and was placed on injured reserve. Veteran Matt Schaub will take over starting duties for the remainder of the season.
• Peyton Manning expected to miss at least two games
Clausen saw action in two games and started one this season while Bears starter Jay Cutler dealt with an injury. He completed a combined 23 of 40 passes for 184 yards with one interception.
